| Univille - University of Region of Joinville | A group of doctors (of some specialties) and technician of the sector of Planning of the UNIVILLE had been congregated for diverse times with intention to elaborate, in set, the Project of the course of Medicine of the UNIVILLE. They had been motivated by the evidences of the social necessities of a course of Medicine in Joinville and that it would take care of to the aspirations of Joinville and the region.
University of the Region of Joinville - Univille - is an institution who think about the construction of the knowledge of its academics. With two campi, one in Joinville and another one in São Bento do Sul, offers to 21 courses of graduation and 30 qualifications, for which it not only attracts students of Santa Catarina, but of other states and even of other countries. Today, about 10 thousand students are registered .They have the chance to develop research projects, to live deeply cultural programmings, scientific events, seminaries and lectures. Besides acting in extension works and participating of a proposal of integrated education. That if it uses of partnerships with respected national and international institutions and stimulates the advance in all the areas of science. The high level of competition in the work market speeds up the search for a professional formation of quality. Through its Pró-Reitoria de Ensino (Proen), the Univille identifies this phenomenon of our time and works to take care of the increasing demand for the education of superior level. Conscientious of its responsibilities front to a market of work in constant change, the Univille forms professionals syntonized with the social matters and capable to interact in the community, in creative brainstorming that leads to the improvement of the quality of life. The 1st and 2nd years we do used teorical-pratice method, 3rd ,4th begin some clinical and cirurgical programs that consists of work in small groups, usually 5 to 6 students, in all kinds of activities, such as: tutorial sessions, bed-side teaching since the first grade, and community work on health related issues . The 5th and 6th is the on boarding hospital grade who we are all the time boarding at the hospital. Our structure consists of one department on Univille building. The are equipped with TV,video recorder and fotoshow
to assist in the lessons
.We have
two university hospitals in which, since the first year we have lessons practice.
From the 4th year we have lessons in a university clinic that is media equipped too. And there we work with some clinical specialties.

| Academic Support Services | The University of the Region of Joinville –UNIVILLE 's origin dates back to the year 1965 when a college graduation was first offered in Joinville. The course was Economics. In 1967, the Municipal Law nº 871/67 creates the Fundação Joinvilense de Ensino -FUNDAJE. In the following year the Philosophy, Sciences and Letters Faculty is created. In the year 1969 FUNDAJE incorporates the Economics College and 2 years later the so named FUNDAJE is renamed Fundação Universitária Norte Catarinense-FUNC . Yet that year two new colleges are created: Business Administration and Accountancy and also the Physical Education College star its activities. In 1975 all unities which belonged to FUNC and were established in different sites moved to the University Campus, in Bom Retiro district and become, in 1977, the Fundação Educacional da Região de Joinville-FURJ made legal since 12/22/75 through the Municipal Law 1423. Univille School was created in the same year (1977) and started working in a really innovative way with primary and secondary students as well as high school ones. Only by the end of 1987 in a big effort together with the academic community, the first direct elections took place to the position of General Directorate of the Institution. In the beginning of the academic year of 1989 there were meetings with political and economic community leaderships as well as with academic leaders in order to review FURJ's Institutional Project. It is then created the group named “Towards University” which had the task of elaborating a pedagogic proposal to make the dream come true: transform Furj in a University. In l990 the group continued working to reach the goal and was quite sure that FURJ was absolutely able to restructure its pedagogic project. There was an ideal university to be established. The micro region looked for something original, small and according to the region necessities. In March 1990, the “Enquiry Letter” which talked about the transformation of FURJ to UNIVILLE is registered in the Education Federal Council. In June 1991 the Federal Commission responsible for the Univille Project is installed and in May 1993, due to the new legislation, it is transferred to the Education State Council Commission. This year the activities of FURJ in São Bento do Sul take place and the course Business Administration is created. In 1992, the “Enquiry Letter” is reformulated and once again registered in the Education Federal Council, comprising the interdisciplinary view of science, involved in the critic holism, in the world's ecological view, which apart from being part of teaching have to be shared in research and extension and therefore has to be disseminated in all university's segments embarking every single bit of the new university. Today the Univille takes care of its microregion, that it possesss around 800000 people. The Education State Council states, by unanimity, the transformation of FURJ to University of the Region of Joinville, in November 1995. Less than a year later the then General Director of FURJ, Marileia Gastaldi Machado Lopes, is present at the Signature's Ceremony of Univille's Credential in the Education Minister's Office and on August 14th 1996, the Official Press (Diário Oficial da União) publishes the Presidential Decree. |
